How to transport a child's scooter or bicycle?
For passengers travelling with children under 12 years of age, the airline offers the opportunity to carry one of the following items free of charge (at your choice): a child's three‑wheeled or four‑wheeled bicycle, scooter or balance bike.
✅ Conditions for free carriage
- Free of charge — regardless of the fare selected.
- In addition — even if you are already carrying a child's pushchair.
- Only one item from the list per child.
- Only for children under 12 years of age (not inclusive).
📦 How and where to drop off children's mobility items
You can drop off the bicycle, scooter or balance bike at the check‑in desk or directly at the aircraft steps — depending on the airport's technical capabilities. In both cases, this is free of charge.
- At the check‑in desk — the item will be sent to the baggage hold together with the rest of your baggage.
- At the steps — you may use the item until boarding and then hand it over to the staff. Upon arrival, it will be returned to you at the steps (if the airport infrastructure allows).
E‑scooters are carried in accordance with the general rules for hand luggage and checked baggage:
- The power of the lithium‑ion battery must not exceed 160 Wh.
- The battery must be removed and carried in hand luggage separately from the scooter.
❓ Frequently asked questions
— Can I carry two items (for example, a bicycle and a scooter) for one child?
Only one item from the list may be carried free of charge. A second item would be charged as ordinary baggage according to your fare.
— Can I carry a bicycle for a child older than 12?
No, the free carriage of children's mobility items applies only to children under 12 years of age. For passengers older than 12, the general rules for carrying sports equipment apply.
— Do I have to pack the bicycle in a box?
It is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend doing so to avoid damage during loading. Some airports may require packaging — please check in advance.
— May I use the scooter at the airport before boarding if I drop it off at the steps?
Yes, if the airport permits scooter use and you are dropping it off at the steps, you may use it right up to the moment of boarding.
— What if the child is not travelling with me, but I am taking the bicycle as a gift?
In that case, free carriage does not apply — it is only available when the child is travelling with you. Without the child, the general baggage rules apply.
