Rules for transporting baggage in the cabin of the aircraft
Baggage in the cabin refers to baggage that requires special precautions for transportation (for example: valuable, fragile, or breakable items) and may be transported in the cabin of the aircraft. The transportation of baggage in the cabin must be arranged in advance with Smartavia.
Baggage must be screened by aviation security services.
The delivery of baggage transported in the cabin to the aircraft, its lifting, placement in the cabin, removal from the aircraft, and delivery from the aircraft is the responsibility of the passenger.
If such baggage is oversized, the passenger must reserve and pay for a separate seat for the baggage transported in the cabin at the passenger fare. The weight of such baggage must not exceed 80 kg, and its dimensions should not exceed 70x36x43 cm. If any of these dimensions are exceeded, confirmation from the airline is required. The baggage is placed in a seat by the window and secured with a seatbelt. Such baggage is treated as unregistered, and the passenger is responsible for its safety.
As baggage transported in a passenger seat, it is permitted to carry animals in the cabin of the aircraft, provided that their weight, including the container/cage, does not exceed 12 kg.
The size of the container/cage must not exceed a total of 115 cm when measuring all three dimensions.
Payment Procedures for Transporting Baggage in the Cabin of the Aircraft
Charges for transporting baggage in the cabin of the aircraft are collected from the passenger before the start of transportation when purchasing a ticket or when checking in baggage at the departure airport.
The fare for transporting baggage in a passenger seat corresponds to the fare for transporting an adult passenger that is in effect at the time of arranging transportation. Discounts do not apply to the fare for an additional seat, and group fares are not used when arranging such transportation.
The allowance for free baggage transport does not apply to an additional ticket for transporting baggage in the cabin of the aircraft.
