How is the hand luggage allowance checked?
Hand luggage is checked for compliance with the dimensions 40x30x20 cm twice: at check-in and at boarding. For this purpose, a calibrator — a special metal compartment with a lid — is installed next to the Smartavia desks at the airport.
Travel tip
Hand luggage must fit into the calibrator freely, including wheels, handles, straps and other fittings, and the lid must close tightly.
We recommend preparing for your flight in advance and measuring your hand luggage before leaving home. Staff at check-in and boarding may ask you to measure your hand luggage in the calibrator.
