Rules for the service "Unaccompanied minors"
Please note that children without a properly completed "Notification of special attention" will not be accepted for transportation.
On direct (non-stop) domestic flights of the airline, the service for transporting children aged 5 to 12 years unaccompanied by adults is provided. At the request of the parents (guardians), this service may also be applied to children aged 12 to 18 years.
The child's age is determined as of the date of transportation from the departure airport (point) specified in the ticket.
The service can be arranged at the airline's call center or at its sales office when purchasing a ticket and providing all necessary documents no later than 3 hours before the check-in for the flight. The service fee is 100% of the applicable normal or special fare.
Only the legal representatives of the child—parents, adoptive parents, guardians, or custodians can arrange this service.
The service is available on all Smartavia flights, except for flights departing to the cities of Sochi, Krasnodar, and Gelendzhik. On these flights, children under 12 years of age may travel only when accompanied by an adult passenger, while children over 12 years of age may travel independently, without adult supervision.
In order for us to personally oversee all the details of your child's flight, check-in is carried out at the airport. Therefore, it is technically not possible to select a seat in advance or check in online – all of this will be arranged at the check-in desk before departure.
On Smartavia flights, onboard meals are not provided, including for unaccompanied children. Flight attendants will provide water immediately after takeoff. Please make sure to pack a snack for your child in advance. More than 24 hours before the flight departure, you can select a meal from our menu. We also recommend giving your child a small amount of cash – it may come in handy at the airport or during the flight if they wish to purchase drinks or food.
If your child is under 14 years of age, in the event of a prolonged flight delay when all passengers are accommodated in a hotel in accordance with the Rules for the Provision of Hotel Services and Other Accommodation Facilities in the Russian Federation, approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1912 of November 27, 2025, we will not be able to accommodate the child without the written consent of a parent or guardian. In such a case, the child will be placed in the airport's mother and child room or in another facility providing suitable rest conditions, under the supervision of an airline representative or handling agent.
The service is not provided to children who require special care: assistance with mobility (wheelchair), hygiene, or medical procedures.
Conditions for providing the service
- before purchasing the airline ticket, parents (or legal representatives) must complete the "Notification of Special Attention" in four copies, indicating the child's gender, age, full name, citizenship, flight details, date and flight number, and information about the accompanying and meeting persons (full name, passport details, phone number, address). The "Notification of Special Attention" must be completed at a travel agency or at the airline's sales office on a special form;
- accompanying persons must remain at the airport until the flight departs;
- child must be met at the arrival airport by the persons specified during the accompaniment registration, as well as on the notification form about the accompaniment;
- A fee is charged for arranging the transportation of an unaccompanied child; details of the fee can be found via the provided link.
When traveling outside the Russian Federation or entering the territory of the Russian Federation, children who are citizens of the Russian Federation and under 18 years old flying unaccompanied must have a notarized (or consular) consent (power of attorney) for departure from their parents, guardians, adoptive parents, or custodians in addition to a mandatory foreign passport with a visa. If the child is traveling for more than three months, this consent must also be certified by guardianship authorities in accordance with the procedure established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
