Safety rules for traveling with children

Please keep an eye on your child throughout the flight and follow all safety instructions from the flight attendants.

We will not be able to seat you in an emergency exit row if you are traveling with children aged 0 to 12 years due to safety regulations. Additionally, seats located directly at the emergency exit cannot be occupied by passengers under 18 years old.

If you are traveling with a child under 2 years old, they must be secured to your seat belt with a separate child safety belt. The flight attendants will provide you with child safety belts.

Transporting in a car seat

If you want your child under 2 years old to be in a car seat (bassinet)during the flight, several conditions must be met:

  1. You must bring the car seat (bassinet) on board yourself, Smartavia does not provide similar devices.
  2. The car seat (bassinet) must be certified and labeled by the manufacturer for use in air transport. Acceptable labels include: "This restraint device is certified for use in cars and airplanes," "Approved for use only on airplanes," etc. If the seat (bassinet) is not certified for air transport, we will not allow it on board.
  3. You have purchased a separate passenger seat for your child under 2 years old.

Certified seats (bassinet) must not exceed the dimensions of 50x40x70 cm (length x width x height). If your seat (bassinet) exceeds these dimensions, it will need to be checked as baggage, which is free of charge.

An adult may hold only one child under 2 years old. In the case of transporting a second, third, or more children under 2 years old by one passenger, the use of a child seat (car seat, bassinet) for each child with separate seats is mandatory.

We recommend placing car seats and bassinets in window seats next to the accompanying adult. This is safer as it allows other passengers free access to emergency equipment and does not obstruct evacuation in case of emergencies. Install the car seat (bassinet) on the passenger seat and secure it with seat belts according to the manufacturer's instructions.
