Smartavia and SNOW SEA: Russia's first spa flight

Events June 29, 2026

The airline Smartavia and the Russian cosmetics brand SNOW SEA have launched the travel set "SKY = SEA" — a collection of skincare products for use during air travel. It includes four products: a facial serum and cream, eye patches, and a hand cream. All products come in full-size packaging and can be taken in carry-on luggage.

The travel set was presented on June 29 during a spa flight operated by Smartavia on the Moscow—Arkhangelsk route. Passengers were told how to care for their skin in the dry air conditions of an aircraft cabin and were introduced to skincare rituals they could perform on their own. They were assisted in this by products made from White Sea algae, which are featured in the travel set.

Air travel has become firmly embedded in the daily lives of Russians, as confirmed by statistics: according to the Federal Air Transport Agency, domestic passenger traffic reached 81 million people. Many people travel several times a year, and for a significant portion of passengers, aviation has become not just a means of transportation but also a regular element of their work schedule and lifestyle. This makes the topic of comfortable flights increasingly relevant. But comfort is not only a set of standard options—it also means the passenger's well-being during and after the flight.

Conditions on board differ from the familiar environment: cabin air humidity is about 10–20%, compared to the comfortable human level of 40–60%, and pressure changes can cause swelling. As a result, during a flight, skin can lose moisture more quickly, and passengers may experience dryness, tightness, and discomfort, especially on long-haul routes or during frequent flights.

The idea behind the "SKY = SEA" travel set revolves around a simple solution: making skincare on the go clear, compact, and accessible right during the journey. The set consists of SNOW SEA cosmetics and has been tested by Smartavia flight attendants, who regularly spend many hours at altitude and know well how flights affect appearance and well-being.

"Smartavia is an airline with a smart approach to travel. For us, comfort is not only the flight itself but also how the passenger feels during and after it. Together with SNOW SEA, we created the 'SKY = SEA' travel set as a simple solution for those who fly often or want to add more self-care to their travels. It is especially important that the products in the set were tested by our flight attendants—people for whom flying is part of their daily work," noted Yuliana Tyazhelnikova, Marketing Director at Smartavia.

The collaboration between Smartavia and SNOW SEA is no coincidence. SNOW SEA products are made at the Arkhangelsk Algae Processing Plant, which has been working with White Sea algae for over a hundred years. Arkhangelsk also holds a special place in the history of Smartavia, whose aviation roots are tied to the development of civil aviation in the Russian North.

"We have created not just a cosmetics set consisting of a facial serum and cream, eye patches, and hand cream, but essentially a ready-made scenario for an in-flight spa ritual. 'SKY = SEA' is not a niche product but a response to the needs of millions of passengers for whom flying is a regular part of life. The idea of the travel set is as simple as all brilliant things: at altitude, skin loses moisture and needs protection—so it needs to be replenished from the outside. For us, this project is clear proof: our cosmetics work at 10,000 meters," added Ksenia Kormysh, Marketing Director at SNOW SEA.

The "SKY = SEA" travel set is already available in the online store and at SNOW SEA offline retail points. If the product receives positive feedback from passengers, the partners will consider expanding it and broadening its sales geography. Thus, the travel set has every chance of becoming not only a limited launch but also part of the skincare ritual for anyone getting on board an aircraft.
