Extra baggage

If your ticket fare iwithout baggage and your baggage exceeds the weight/size allowed under free baggage allowance, use Extra Baggage service.

Extra Baggage service can be booked:

Once booked, and paid for, the details of passenger’s extra baggage will be communicated to automatic booking system and an EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) will be sent to passenger's email address.

Service refund

In the event the extra baggage service has not been used, its cost is fully refundable. For return request, please fill out the Feedback Form.

Should a passenger wish to change their departure date, the service purchased online will be canceled. Refunds are possible only through Feedback Form.

The airline has the right to deny transportation of passenger and their baggage if they refuse to pay for excess baggage or items that are subject to excess baggage rate.

Carry-on baggage

Should your carry-on exceed the free allowance by weight/size/number of seats and you would still prefer to carry the excess in cabin, it is possible to book an additional piece of carry-on.

Seat Selection

For the convenience of its passengers Smartavia offers Seat Selection service. Would you rather have a window seat? Or want to be among the first to disembark? Feel free to preselect your seat. The service does not apply to enhanced-comfort ones.

The effected payment and the EMD guarantee the provision of Seat Selection service.

Passengers with Seat Selection Service are served at the check-in desk on a first-come, first-served basis and are advised to have their EMD printouts on them.

For flight safety reasons, Seat Selection service cannot be provided to unaccompanied children regardless of age.

Service cost

The cost of Seat Selection RUB 300 on regular flights and on charter flights.

Seat Selection service entitles passengers to choose seats, with exception for comfort seats, according to their preference. Passengers with Basic Fare tickets are entitled to Seat Selection on a gratis basis.

Service refund

In the event apassenger wishes to cancel their flight, the cost of Comfort Service will not be returned.

Should a passenger wish to change conditions of their carriage (change of route, dates, etc. at passenger’s request), the Service will be canceled and the funds will not be returned.

Service fee will be refunded if passenger is forced to cancel travel in cases specified in the Airline's rules, in case of the Airline’s inability to provide the service, or in case of modification of the aircraft layout.

Seat Selection service is available on flights operated by Smartavia.

Comfort Service

Passengers who would like to enjoy enhanced onboard comfort are welcome to use Smartavia’s Comfort Service. Feel free to book an enhanced-comfort seat with increased distance between seat rows on all our aircraft.

Comfort Service can be booked:

Comfort Service is free for Loyalty VIP card holders.

Restrictions on service availability

НSome of the comfort seats with increased spacing between rows are located in the emergency exit aisles. For flight safety reasons, Comfort Service cannot be provided to the following categories of passengers:

  • children aged 2 to 18, regardless of whether accompanied or not;
  • infants under 2 years old;
  • unaccompanied children regardless of age;
  • pregnant women;
  • passengers whose mental and/or physical condition does not allow them to quickly follow the instructions of the crew and/or take necessary actions in the event of an emergency evacuation;
  • passengers accepted for carriage in custody and/or deportees/inadmissible passengers;
  • passengers carrying animals in the cabin;
  • passengers with over-sized cabin baggage (CBBG);
  • courier service or special communications service employees carrying official correspondence (COUR).

Passengers of the above categories, who have purchased the Comfort Service in order to be seated in the emergency exit row, will be offered alternative comfort seats, if vacant, or any other seat without refunding the service fee.

Service refund

Service refund

Pet transportation

On Smartavia flights, you can travel with all your family members. Your pet can be transported in cabin if its weight and the size of its container/cage do not exceed the allowed values. If they do, your pet will be transported in luggage compartment.

The weight of caged pet/bird is not included in the passenger's free baggage allowance.

Insurance

To ensure that your travel is filled only with pleasant excitement, take out AlfaStrakhovaniye (AlfaInsurance) policy as a protection in unforeseen circumstances during the flight. The insurance policy can be purchased on flysmartavia.com together with the ticket or added later to your booking in Booking search or during online check-in.

Smartavia and AlfaStrakhovaniye (AlfaInsurance, JSC) offer several types of insurance:

In-flight insurance

A comprehensive policy, in-flight insurance provides in-flight protection of the passenger, their life and health, and baggage.

The insurance policy covers:

  • life and health – compensation up to RUB 500,000;
  • baggage loss or damage – compensation up to RUB 40,000;
  • baggage delay – compensation up to RUB 10,000;
  • flight delay – compensation up to RUB 10,000.

COVID-19 insurance

The newly introduced ANTICOVID insurance policy provides compensation in the event of infection with, or accident as a result of, COVID-19.

The insurance policy covers:

  • life – compensation up to RUB 1,000,000;
  • infection with COVID-19 – fixed compensation of RUB 50,000.

Smart Safe

As a preventive measure for its passengers against viral infections, Smartavia has launched Smart Safe.

Passengers with pre-paid Smart Safe service receive personal protective kits to observe COVID-19 prevention measures.

The kit contains:

  • medical mask;
  • disposable gloves;
  • Sanitelle sanitizer.

Smart Safe service can be booked:

The kits are available on www.flysmartavia.com and can be booked when purchasing a ticket at Smartavia's own sales offices or through agents. Please make sure you book Smart Safe service at least 24 hours before the flight departure.

Smartavia’s Smart Safe kits can also be purchased immediately before departure at the following airports:

  • Arkhangelsk and Pulkovo – at our ticket office or at boarding gate counter;
  • Murmansk and Domodedovo – at boarding gate counter.

Upon payment of Smart Safe service, the passenger is issued an EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) confirming the purchase of the service. EMD is not provided when paying for the service at the boarding gate using a mobile cash register.

Smart Safe service kit costs RUB 250.

Service refund

In the event the service has not been used, the funds will be returned to the passenger in full.

In the event of change in carriage conditions (date/time of departure), Smart Safe service may be used by passengers on their next travel with the Airline.

Unaccompanied children

Children traveling unaccompanied need to feel protected. With Smartavia, your little travelers are in good hands. We will take care of them at the airport, during the flight and after landing.

Children aged 2 to 12 years can travel unaccompanied on our direct (nonstop) domestic flights. At the request of the parents (legal guardians), the service of transportation of unaccompanied children can be available to children over 12 years old.

The child's age shall be determined as of the date of commencement of transportation from the point of origin specified in the ticket.

Service booking

The service can be ordered at our sales offices when purchasing a ticket and provided that all necessary documents have been presented, no later than 3 hours before the start of check-in for the flight and is paid in the amount of 100% of the current regular or special fare. Only legal representatives can apply for the service – parents, adoptive parents, legal guardians or custodians.

In places where there are no sales offices of the Airline, tickets for unaccompanied children can be issued by sales agencies upon receipt by these agencies of a written permission from the Airline (for the permission agencies should contact: a.bereznaya@flysmartavia.com).

Skis Fly Free

Being the skiers’ airline of choice, Smartavia is happy to transport your ski equipment free of charge.

The flights operated by Smartavia allow free carriage, in addition to passenger’s main baggage, of 1 set of mountain skiing/snowboarding equipment per passenger as 1 piece up to 23 kg (size restrictions for checked baggage do not apply). Such set includes one pair of alpine skis with poles or a snowboard, boots, helmets, goggles, special clothing.

In the event of doubt concerning the contents of a set of skiing equipment, such set may be examined by the Airline or its authorized persons. In the event the set is found to contain items that are not related to ski equipment, passenger is obliged to pay for their carriage subject to the conditions provided for by the air carriage contract.

The information about the aforegoing service is for informational purposes only and can under no circumstances be deemed a public offer as defined in the provisions of para. 2, Article 437 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. The cost of a Multi Pass depends on the number of route stages and the destination chosen: the more route stages it covers, the cheaper its cost.

Multi Pass is valid for Economy class travel. The first flight must be a confirmed reservation with set date and flight details, while the remaining stages are open-ended or flexible within the Multi Pass validity term (3 or 5 months, respectively).

Sequencing of route stages is always forward. It means that before booking/taking a flight for the second route stage, a Multi Pass holder is required to have the first stage completed, and similar is the requirement for the third and every subsequent route stage indicated on the Multi Pass.

Multi Pass is non-transferable and may not be used by persons other than its holder. For full utilization of their Multi Passes, passengers are required to keep their initial itinerary receipts.

Additional information:

  • flight details (date, time, number) can be changed within the validity term of the Multi Pass;
  • open departure date guarantee is subject to seats availability on the desired date;
  • in the event of return, Multi Pass should be returned to issuing ticket office not later than the expiry date of its validity. A return charge will be deducted from the amount to be returned for all the unused sections of the route.
Congratulation on board

Surprise your family and friends with a congratulation from our crew on an important occasion such as

  • birthday / anniversary;
  • wedding day or anniversary;
  • marriage proposal;
  • newborn baby;
  • or another occasion.

The congratulation will be delivered verbally by cabin crew over the onboard speakers after the aircraft has completed climbing.

Service booking

Congratulation Onboard can be booked after you have purchased your ticket by filling the Form on flysmartavia.com. Please make sure that you reserve your congratulation not later than 3 days before the flight.

Service cost

Congratulation Onboard costs RUR 1,000.

Service refund

Should a passenger cancel their travel or the service be unavailable for some reason, the refund will be made in full. For refund please fill out the Feedback Form.

The Airline reserves the right not to provide the service if the text uses obscene, offensive or unacceptable language. The text of the congratulation must not contain:

  • rude, obscene or offensive words;
  • phrases or statements violating the current legislation of the Russian Federation – racist remarks, phrases inciting ethnic hatred and other actions that are prosecuted under the criminal code.

The Airline reserves the right to modify the texts of congratulations without prior notice.

Airmail Service

Letters fly, too! Use our express mail delivery service with Smartavia and Red Wings flights.

Your mail will be delivered with our scheduled regular flights from:

  • Arkhangelsk;
  • Moscow;
  • Murmansk;
  • Naryan-Mar;
  • St. Petersburg;
  • Syktyvkar.

Mail is accepted for carriage at the airport, not later than 2 hours before the scheduled flight departure. Should you have your mail registered at a later time, it will be sent with the next flight.

Mail can be received not earlier than 1 hour after the arrival of the aircraft (at Domodedovo airport, not earlier than 2 hours). Payment can be made by bank transfer.
